Sometimes, when we are journeying through life and trials come our way, it may feel like we are all alone. Psalm 78:34-35 says, "When he slew them, then they sought him: and they returned and inquired early after God. And they remembered that God was their rock, and the high God their redeemer." These verses speak to the human tendency to only seek after God when we are in trouble or facing difficult circumstances. Sometimes, it is only through the struggles and challenges of life that we truly recognize the presence of God.

The Bible is filled with countless examples of God's faithfulness and love towards His people. In Jeremiah 29:11, God declares His plans for us, plans to prosper us and not to harm us, plans to give us hope and a future. This verse reminds us that no matter what we may face, God is always working for our good. He is constantly running after us, pursuing us with His love and grace.
There may be times when we find ourselves going astray, losing sight of God's path for our lives. In Luke 15:4-7, Jesus tells the parable of the lost sheep, illustrating God's relentless pursuit of those who have gone astray. Just as a shepherd leaves his flock to search for one lost sheep, God will leave no stone unturned in His pursuit of us. He will go to great lengths to bring us back into His loving arms.

In our daily lives, it is easy to become consumed by the busyness and distractions of the world. We may feel like God is distant or silent. However, when we take a moment to reflect on our journey and the paths we have walked, we begin to see the footprints of God all along the way. The twists and turns that seemed confusing or even painful at the time suddenly make sense in hindsight. We realize that God was guiding us, protecting us, and leading us towards His purpose for our lives.
The Holy Spirit, which dwells within every believer, is a testament to God's enduring love for us. The Holy Spirit is our constant companion, working in our lives to lead us closer to God. It is through the Holy Spirit that we are able to recognize the footprints of God in our own lives, opening our eyes to the ways in which God has been at work, even when we were unaware. Even when we struggle to see evidence of God's work in our daily lives, He is always there, walking beside us.

It is through the Holy Spirit's guidance that we are able to see the beauty and purpose in our journey; even amidst the challenges and hardships, no matter how hard we try, we cannot outrun God's love. No matter how far we may try to distance ourselves from Him, His love is constant and pursuing us. This idea is echoed throughout Scripture. In Romans 8:38-39, Paul writes, "For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." This means that no matter how far we may stray or how lost we may feel, God is always there, chasing after us with His relentless love.
Thank you, Lord, for your unwavering presence in our lives. Thank You for staying by our side even when we don't feel your presence because of our own selfish ambition. When we start to veer off course, we are so grateful to You for running after us with Your love and grace. Help us to always remember that no matter what twists and turns we may face, You are with us every step of the way. In Jesus Name, Amen! ©Rita Larson 11/21/2023
