Jesus set an example for us of what it looks like to serve and lead with integrity. In John 13:3-17, Jesus washes his disciples’ feet, even though it was a job normally reserved for a slave. This act of humility was a powerful lesson for us—we must always serve with integrity.
The Bible is full of examples of how we can serve and lead with integrity. Joseph, who was sold into slavery but remained faithful to God, Esther, who risked her own life to save her people, and David, who could not bring himself to harm King Saul, despite Saul's attempts to kill him. In each of these stories, we see an example of leading with integrity at all costs.

Proverbs 11:3, “the integrity of the upright shall guide them” reminds us of our call to practice honesty and truthfulness in all of our actions. Proverbs 16:11 “a just weight and balance are the Lord's.” God wants us to be honest in our dealings and transactions with others.
Leading with integrity is about being compassionate and understanding the needs of others. In Matthew 22:39, Jesus says, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” This verse reminds us that we have a responsibility to show love and compassion to those around us, even if it is not convenient or comfortable.

Integrity - it is a decision that we make, in every moment, to do what is right. As Jesus said in the book of Matthew: "Let your 'Yes' be 'Yes' and your 'No' be 'No'" (Matthew 5:37 KJV). This is a call to live an honest life, to be consistent in our decision-making, and never to compromise our integrity.
Living with integrity is a challenge in today's world. It's easy to be swayed by public opinion and to make decisions that will gain us favor. True integrity is measured by our willingness to do the right thing, even when no one is watching, no matter the cost. ©Rita Larson 5/21/2023
