"Flounder or Flourish?"

God gave us a vision to lead us to success and fulfillment so that we can carry out the purpose He has set for us. Without a vision, it can be difficult to thrive and find meaning in our lives. Proverbs 29:18 says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.” Without a vision, we will flounder. We may feel aimless, directionless, and without purpose. With a vision, we will flourish! We will experience the fullness of joy that is only found in Jesus!

A great example of God giving us a vision is found in the life of Abraham. Genesis 12:1-3, "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." Abraham saw a vision of what God wanted to do through him, and this vision stayed with Abraham for the rest of his life.

God has given us all a vision. He wants us to find our purpose and to be successful. Psalms 37:23 tells us, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.” God has a plan for us! Where He tells us to go, we go! We should delight in His plan and be willing to follow Him wherever He leads. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” It is important to trust that God will lead us on a path that is best for us.

Without a vision, we will flounder. We may feel lost, confused, and without purpose. But with a vision, we can flourish. We can achieve success and fulfill our God-given purpose. It is important to take time to pray and seek God’s vision for our lives. When we do, our lives will be infinitely more satisfying and meaningful. Therefore, take time to seek God’s vision for your life. He will lead you down the right path and fill your life with meaning and purpose. What do you choose?
