How would you like to wake up tomorrow and just start over? Have a fresh start! A new lease on life! Guess what you can! Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us "It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." His mercies are new every morning. Every day is a fresh start. God doesn't remember our sins from yesterday. Our sins have been forgiven and forgotten!
In Psalm 103:12, we are reminded again that God has done that very thing for us, forgotten our sins of yesterday. He has “removed our transgressions from us as far as the east is from the west." We can be thankful that our sins are forgotten and so should our guilt and shame! We are given a fresh start.

God’s love and grace are so great that He has pardoned us for all our sins. In Micah 7:18-19 , it states “Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger forever, because He delighteth in mercy. He will turn again, He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and Thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea.” This is a beautiful reminder that God is not only willing to forgive us, but that He delights in mercy. Our transgressions are no more!
We can look to Micah 7:18-19, "Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? He retaineth not Jis anger forever, because He delighteth in mercy. He will turn again; He will have compassion upon us; He will subdue our iniquities; and thou wilt cast all their sins into the depths of the sea." Here, God promises that He will pardon our iniquity and pass by our transgressions. He will have compassion on us and subdue our iniquities. We can put our faith in the fact that all of our sins are cast into the depths of the sea, forgotten forever.
As Romans 3:23 reminds us, “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” None of us are perfect. When we come to Him in humility and repentance, He will forgive us of our sins and forget them. We can be thankful that God has removed our sins so far that He doesn’t remember them anymore. 1 John 1:9 states, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

We can also look to Isaiah 43:25, as it says “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” This is an incredible reminder that God is willing to forgive us and forget our sins if we come to Him in repentance.
Finally, we can look to Hebrews 8:12 as it says “For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.” He is willing to show us mercy and to forgive us of our sins, no matter how great they may be.
Let us give thanks to God for His grace and mercy, which are so great that He has removed our sins so far that He doesn’t remember them anymore. We can be grateful that our debt is paid for in full and that our transgressions are forgotten. Run to the Father with a thankful heart, thanking God for His grace and mercy, and for our fresh start. There is no sin so big, so deep, so high, or so wide that the Father cannot and does not want to forgive you for! You are loved!! ©Rita Larson 8/14/2023
