"Give the Pen to the Author"

Have you ever considered the idea of giving the pen to God and letting Him write the chapters of your life? It's such a thrilling concept, isn't it? I mean, just imagine the Author and Finisher of our faith, the One who knows the beginning from the end, taking charge of our life's story. The thought itself is enough to make one's heart race with excitement! And why not? After all, He is the ultimate Author, the Creator of all things, and His plans for us are far greater than anything we could ever dream of. It's like having the master storyteller shaping our lives with His divine wisdom and love.

When we open up the pages of scripture, we find countless examples of individuals who allowed God to write their stories. From Abraham to Moses, from David to Esther, each one surrendered their pen to God, allowing Him to script their narratives in ways they could never have imagined. And oh, the adventures they had! The trials they faced! The triumphs they celebrated! All because they trusted in the Author of life to guide their steps and direct their paths.

Here's the thing - too often, we try to take back control of the pen. We try to dictate the plot twists, determine the climax, and even decide how our story should end. It's like telling the Master Storyteller that we know better than Him. How audacious is that? We forget that He already knows the story because He is the one who wrote it. He knows every twist, every turn, every tear, and every triumph that awaits us. So why not let go and trust Him with our narrative?

So, let's pray together for the courage to hand over the pen to God. Let's ask Him to take charge of our story and write each chapter according to His perfect will. Let's invite Him to weave His promises and purpose into every page of our lives. And as we do so, let's embrace the excitement of not knowing what comes but trusting in the One who holds our future in His hands. After all, who better to write our story than the Author and Finisher of our faith? ©Rita Larson 11/13/2023
