We all have gone through periods when we are feeling down and question our worth. At times, it may seem like no one around us cares what we are going through. Some of us have been placed in circumstances where we were made to feel devalued and disrespected to the point we may begin questioning our own existence. God says that we are part of His family, a chosen generation! We are created by Him and for Him. God does not make mistakes and we are each a priceless creation, the apple of His eye!
God created us in His own image and gave us the ability to make choices in our lives. We often get caught up in what others think of us, and we forget that our worth comes from God, who created us and loves us unconditionally. This is why it is so important to accept who we are and respect ourselves as much as our Maker does. It is important to take time to nurture and care for ourselves. If only we could see ourselves through God's eyes. He sees each one of us as His favorite child! We are worthy enough for Him to send His only begotten Son to die for us.

In Psalm 139:14, we read, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” God carefully crafted us with so much love! We are each a piece of marvelous handcrafted work of art, each unique and special in the eyes of our Creator.
Psalm 119:73 tells us, “Thy hands have made me and fashioned me: give me understanding, that I may learn thy commandments.” We are a work in progress. It is not easy to see ourselves as the Father sees us. God gave us the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in understanding and learning His ways. We need to pray for eyes to see ourselves as the Father sees us!
Job 31:15 states, “Did not he that made me in the womb make him? and did not one fashion us in the womb?” Think about all of the intricate care with which God crafted us, perfectly created and designed the way He wanted us to be. We were all created by the same God, and with the same loving hands, placing us each in our mother's womb. God does not see us according to rank. He does not love the person living in a multi-million dollar estate more than anyone else. We are all His favorite children. We need to accept ourselves and give glory to God for who we really are!

In Psalm 139:17-18, we read, “How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.” Treasure the fact that God, who is All-Knowing, takes time and care to think about us specifically. It is incomprehensible to imagine that God would think so deeply about each and every one of us. We are in His thoughts constantly. We matter to our Father!
God created each of us in His image for a purpose! He loves and respects us unconditionally. Our actions do not dictate who we are and whether or not we are acceptable to God. How we dress or the car we drive does not dictate whether or not we are acceptable to God. Whether or not other people like us does not dictate whether or not we are acceptable to God. We are loved and accepted by God in spite of ourselves. He accepts us, knowing our mistakes and shortcomings. He looks at us and sees us without blemish! God does not make mistakes, and He is no respecter of persons! Again, God NEVER makes mistakes! ©Rita Larson 5/27/2023
