God's Favor: Pay It Forward!

Brian and I were blessed with such an amazing gift earlier, and we know that we are walking in God's favor. Today, we received a call from one of the reporters at Wavy News 10, Regina Mobley, who reported on our arrival home from Israel. She wanted to do a follow-up interview and highlight Brian's new bakery business, Mr. Yummy Buns, that is opening up. She came by and did the interview, and not only were we blessed by the promotion for the business, but we had the opportunity to make a friend! God puts people in our path for a reason, and we may not always understand why at the time, but He is always up to something, working all things for our good!

In the Bible, the term “grace” is often used to describe God’s favor and kindness towards us. It is His unmerited favor that brings us salvation, healing, and restoration. God’s grace is so vast it is impossible to comprehend its depth fully. As Christians, we should be aware of the goodness of God and His favor in our lives and always try to pay it forward. We cannot ever out-give God, but we certainly can try!

The Bible tells us in Romans 5:8 that “God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” This scripture is a powerful reminder of the depth of God’s favor. He loved us so much that He sacrificed His own son for us, even though we were still sinners. This is a demonstration of His unconditional love and favor towards us. We can never repay Him for what He has done for us, but we can thank Him and show our appreciation.

Another scripture that reveals God’s favor is Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” This scripture reminds us that our salvation is not something that we have earned or worked for; it is a gift from God. He has given us the gift of salvation through His grace and favor. We do not have to do anything to deserve it; we just have to accept it.

Finally, James 4:6 says, “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” This scripture reminds us that God gives us even more grace and favor when we are humble. He shows us favor when we humbly accept His love and sacrifice and when we are willing to bow before Him in worship.

God’s favor is an amazing gift that should never be taken for granted. We should thank Him for His love and grace and strive to show others the same kind of love and favor we have been shown by HIm. God gives us more grace than we could ever deserve, and it is with humility that we should accept His love and sacrifice, rejoice in His goodness, and be thankful for the amazing grace and favor God has given us.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your grace and favor. We thank You for the gift of salvation and the love and mercy You have shown us. We thank You for loving us so much that You gave Your only Son to die for us. May we constantly remember the amazing favor You have given us. Remind us to pay it forward and show others the same kind of love and favor You have shown us! In Jesus’ name, Amen! ©Rita Larson 10/24/2023
