"God's Masterpiece!"

Today, my husband dedicated his entire day to cooking a wonderful meal for 50 men at our church for men's night. I watched him plan the day for at least two weeks. He carefully put thought into the menu being mindful of cost, ensuring good stewardship yet providing a quality steak dinner for his brothers in Christ. He put so much detail in writing out a schedule to ensure everything he was cooking was timed perfectly to be done and in the car and ready to go at just the right time. He has such a servant's heart and love for people. I began to think about how blessed and grateful I am that God created him just the way he is, shaped and molded by His very hands.

God created all of us uniquely, with purpose and beauty. He takes our brokenness, reshapes us, and makes us new again. Just like a jar of clay, we are weak, have blemishes and cracks, along with many imperfections, but the treasure within us is glorious. If we were to be perfectly shaped, polished, and shiny vessels, then others would focus on the outside and not see the treasure we have stored within us. We are all temporary holding places for treasure! James 4:14, it says, “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” Our life here on earth is fleeting. We have been made to share the beauty and treasure of Jesus we have on the inside with others.

Isaiah 64:8 "But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou, our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand." God is the Master Potter, shaping and molding us to reflect His likeness and create something beautiful and unique. God’s creative power is evident in how He carefully crafts each of us. He is deliberate and intentional with every detail, crafting us into His very image and to His liking. Being the Ultimate Artist, He made us with great purpose and beauty in mind. In Jeremiah 18:5-6, it says, “Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying, O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the Lord. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.” God made us to be beautiful, one-of-a-kind vessels of His glory. He has created us with a unique purpose, and a special way to bring Him glory!

We are all like jars of clay, and no matter how much the world tries to bend and break us, God is our source of strength. We need to stand with confidence, knowing who we are in Christ and how intricately we have been created. We are all a work of art and need to submit to God and allow His Hands to continue to mold us and make us more and more like Him! We need to be the vessels of His glory that He created us to be.
