Frequently I wake up during the night or very early in the morning and that is when I spend quality time in prayer, communing with the Lord. This morning was one of those mornings. I woke up and received the following Word from the Lord, “These plans are My plans and for My purpose.”
Let me share a little about the significance behind these words. When I first started blogging back in March, it was because of a desire to write and a word from God spoken through my husband. Since the time I started blogging, it has just continued to grow. I may have been late posting occasionally, but I have not missed a day posting a blog. I love sharing about the Goodness of God and what He has done in my life, even more importantly, what He can do in yours. With that being said, I also work full-time and have a very intense job but am committed to sharing and being a vessel to be used for His glory. I recently have had thoughts of skipping a day when I have gotten tired and started to question the frequency and intensity of these writings. This morning I was reminded that the enemy would like nothing more than to distract anyone that is glorifying God and that this is His Plan and His Purpose. I am both humbled and honored to be able to be used as a vessel!

My Husband has also been going through some changes. Taking a step of faith, he quit a job that he held for over 11 years and is going back into the bakery business, using his God-given talents. We are in the middle of getting his business up and going and it is an exciting, fun, challenging, yet stressful time. God has made the way and we have had favor from every direction, yet change is stressful. This morning I was reassured and shared with my husband that “These plans are His Plans and For His Purpose!” The bakery business is going to be a blessing to many people, including us, and an avenue to share the Goodness of God!
What about you? Have you ever made plans that were interrupted or changed by God? Proverbs 19:21 says, “There are many plans in a man’s heart, nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.” God has a beautiful plan for each of us. He knows our needs and our desires, and He is always at work to bring us closer to His perfect will. When our plans don’t work out, it’s easy to become discouraged, but by keeping our focus on God’s purpose, we can trust that His plans are far greater than ours.

In Matthew 9:9, we learn that Matthew was a tax collector whom Jesus called to leave his job and follow Him. When Jesus called Matthew, He interrupted his plans and purpose, but it was all part of God’s master plan. It was a bold move, but Matthew left his tax collecting business behind to become a devoted disciple of Jesus. In the same way, Jesus called Andrew, Peter, James, and John to leave their job as fishermen and follow Him (Matthew 4:18-22). Jesus called them to continue to fish but be fishers of men! This was a definite change in plans for them all, yet they followed Jesus, committed to His Plans and His Purpose, changing lives, and sharing the Good News of our Lord and Savior!

The best-made plans are the ones that serve as pathways to God’s greater purpose, carried out at His designated time! Habakkuk 2:3 says, “For the vision is yet for an appointed time; but at the end, it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”. God's timing can be compared to a perfectly crafted symphony. Each note and instrument must be played at the right moment to create beautiful music, and if one note is played too early or too late, it can ruin the entire piece. Similarly, God's timing is always right on time, orchestrating each event and circumstance in our lives to create a masterpiece that we may not understand now, but will appreciate in the end. Just as a symphony requires patience and trust in the conductor's timing, we must also have faith in God's timing, knowing that everything will come together in the perfect way at the perfect time. Have patience and trust in God’s timing! He will never fail us, and His plans will always work for our good! Hallelujah! ©Rita Larson 5/2/2023
