Do you ever feel like there is no way out of the situation you’re in? Have you ever felt like you’ve reached a dead end and there’s no way forward? If you’ve ever felt that way, it’s time to remember that God is able to make a way when it seems like there is no way. When faced with seemingly impossible situations, it can be hard to keep faith that God will make a way. In Exodus 14, the children of Israel saw the power of God, realizing the miracle working power of our God!

When the Egyptian army closed in on them, the children of Israel thought they were doomed. It seemed like they would either be slaughtered by the Egyptians or drowned in the Red Sea. Suddenly, God used Moses to split open the sea and the children of Israel “walked on dry land in the midst of the sea” (Ex. 14:29). This miracle is an amazing example of God’s power and His willingness to provide a way when it seems like there is no way. But Wait! God didn’t stop there. He caused the sea to return to its full depth, destroying all of the Egyptian soldiers that were in pursuit. He destroyed their enemies to the point that according to Exodus 14:28, “Not so much as one of them remained.” There is nothing our God cannot do. He is always able to make a way when it seems there is no way.
We can see this same miracle-working power in our lives today. As it says in Exodus 14:13-14, “And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” God is our Defender and Protector. No matter what we’re facing, He will fight for us. We just have to stand still and trust in His salvation.

This is echoed in other scriptures as well. Isaiah 41:10 says, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” And Psalm 37:23-24 tells us, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.” When we stumble, the Father is always there, holding out His hand, ready to help us back up on our feet.

God is the same yesterday, today and forever. If He can part the seas as He did for the children of Israel, He can do the same for us. Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” In Isaiah 43:2, it says “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” Again, we are reminded that no matter what we face, God is with us and He will always provide a way. In 2 Corinthians 9:8, “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” God is not satisfied with giving us “just enough.” We serve the God of “more than enough!” He is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ever imagine!

No matter what you are going through, our Heavenly Father is all powerful and able to do the impossible! He can provide a way out of any situation. Trust in His power and His goodness! Put your hand in His and let Him lead you through your situation. Have faith that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly more than we can ever imagine. ©Rita Larson 6/23/2023
