"Living Inside Out"

I was doing some research and came across this quote that really captivated me . “We need to become God-minded not just by knowledge but also through EXPERIENCE! We need to live FROM the life of God in us...we need to live from the inside out!” - Pastor Tad Gregurich. As I began to dwell on living from the inside out and what it means, I began to think about how focused we become on outward things, when the inward spirit is what is really important. We have the power of the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us, equipping us with power to overcome the challenges that we face. Do you ever feel like you’re trying to “overcome” but it feels like you are losing a battle? If you are a believer, then you’ve been born of God and are now His child. It is through that relationship that you can be an “overcomer” with Christ.

1 John 5:1-5 reminds us of this powerful truth: “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth Him that begat loveth Him also that is begotten of Him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep His commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is He that overcometh the world, but He that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?.”

We need to become God-minded, not just by knowledge but also through EXPERIENCE! But if we are to live a life of victory and overcome with Christ, then we need to put on the “imperishable” truth of God’s promises. We need to live a life that is focused on the things of God and His eternal promises. To do this, we need to live an “inside-out” life rather than an “outside-in” life. By nature, we like to work on the outside more than the inside. This means that we tend to focus on the temporal, the things that are fleeting and have no lasting value.

God has given us the gift of the Holy Spirit to help us live this “inside-out” life. As Romans 8:9-11 (KJV) tells us: “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

As a believer, the Spirit of God dwells within you, giving you the power to live a victorious life! Don't be tempted by the “outside-in” mindset. Allow the Holy Spirit to break strongholds and the love of God to ignite a life of obedience to Him. Embrace an “inside-out” life today and experience a spirit-filled life, full of peace that surpasses all understanding and unspeakable joy! ©Rita Larson 4/23/2023
