More Precious than Diamonds

One of our daughters works in the jewelry industry and when she speaks about the difference between diamonds and other gemstones, whether natural or lab created and the different types and colors, she lights up. She loves the happiness that these precious gifts bring to others. She also loves the beauty and uniqueness of each creation. That is how the Father looks at us. He looks at us as His special creation, each unique in our own way. In Isaiah 43:4, the Lord reminds us that WE are more precious than diamonds.
Our Pastor was preaching from the book of Mark in church this morning. We reviewed the story of Mary, sister to Lazarus and Martha, as recorded in the Gospel and verse 8 really jumped out of the pages. The Bible says, “She did what she could”. Mary was commended by Jesus for giving her best to the Father, despite her circumstances. Jesus did not judge her or push her to do something she did not have the resources or ability to do. He simply praised her for giving Him her best. Faith is taking a step and trusting that God will meet us where we are, but, just as Mary did what she could, we need to do what we can.
God understands our struggles, and He loves us no matter what we can or cannot do. We are not required to prove ourselves to Him, for He knows our hearts and our intentions. His grace and mercy are more than enough for us, and He will always provide us with the strength and resources we need to get through any challenges we face. No matter where we are in our walk with God, He is always there to meet us. His love is never-ending, and He is ready and willing to forgive us and provide us with redemption. We can find hope in His word and trust in Him to bring us through any situation. The Lord is our refuge and strength, and He is always ready to take us in His arms and comfort us.
So let us turn to the Lord and trust that He is with us through it all. We are all precious to God and He loves us unconditionally. We may feel like we are not good enough or that we can't do enough to please Him, but He never puts any expectations or restrictions on us. He is always a gentleman, and He never pushes Himself on us. Have faith that He will meet us wherever we are and, knowing that as long as we give Him what we can, we have given Him our best. God loves us and we are more than enough! Sparkle like the diamond that you were created to be! ©Rita Larson 3/19/2023
