"Never Give Up!"

God is intentional in all of HIs actions. His timing is perfect. This is hard for us to see sometimes when we are in the middle of a battle, praying and waiting to be rescued or delivered from that particular situation that we are dealing with. Sometimes, we begin to wonder why it is taking so long and may start to waiver in our faith. Never give up and hold on to your faith!
In Exodus Chapter 2, we read part of the story of Moses and his journey to serve God. In Exodus 2, starting at vs 11, Moses sees an Egyptian smiting (brutally beating) a fellow Hebrew. Moses, thinking no one saw him, acted to defend his fellow Hebrew and killed the Egyptian. Unfortunately, the murder was witnessed. To avoid punishment, Moses fled to Midian, a foreign land, away from his family and every he knew. In this foreign land, he had to trust and rely on God for his safety and provision.

But despite the circumstances, Moses chose to trust in the Lord. In Exodus 2:22-25, Moses married Zipporah and had two sons. This was part of the promise God had made to bring the Hebrew slaves out of Egypt, and Moses was part of that master plan. Hebrews 11:24-25 says, “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season”. In spite of everything that Moses had went through, he still maintained his faithfulness to God.
Just as Moses did on his journey, we too, can rely on God, even when our rescue takes a long time and we don't understand why. Hebrews 11:27 says, “By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” It was because of his faith, that Moses was able to have courage and endure leaving his homeland and everyone he knew. He did not let not knowing what would lie ahead of him be a discouragement, all because of his faith and trust in God.

Moses’ story is a reminder to us all that we should trust in God no matter what! It doesn't matter what we have done or what we have not done. Our Father loves us and forgives us. He says He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)! Even when we feel abandoned and isolated, God is by our side. No matter how difficult our circumstances are, we have the Holy Spirit living on the inside of us to lead us and guide us. We may not understand why our rescue is taking so long, but we should trust that God is working on our behalf to fulfill His promises. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all thine hear, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” We should not give up on God because He will never give up on us! God's timing is always right on time! ©Rita Larson 5/30/2023
