"Reject Rejection: You are not alone!"

ree

We have all experienced some form of rejection in our lives, whether from peers, family, or even our internal dialogue. The Bible reminds us that Jesus was rejected by men so that we can experience victory over rejection! As we read in Isaiah 53:3, “He is despised and rejected of men.” This verse shows us that Jesus fully understood the sorrow and pain of rejection in order to help us overcome it in our own lives. Rejection can have deep emotional wounds, but, as born-again believers, we have the supernatural ability to overcome it and live in freedom.

Rejection can be a very painful experience, often leaving us feeling powerless and broken. God has given us the supernatural ability to overcome rejection. When we understand our identity in Christ, we can recognize that we are deeply loved and highly favored by God. We have authority over rejection because of our standing in Him. As the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” This is a powerful reminder that when we come to Christ, we become new creations and no longer have to be weighed down by the rejection of the past.

Romans 15:13 tells us, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” This scripture emphasizes that when we have faith and hope in God, we can experience joy and peace. We can have confidence that God is with us and will never leave us. In fact, the Holy Spirit dwells within us. We, as believers, are not alone!

Psalm 34:18 also speaks to us about the power of God’s protection: “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” This is a reminder that no matter how much rejection we have experienced, God is always there to protect and comfort us. He is always near to us and will never forsake us.

Psalm 103:12 says, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.” This verse reminds us that God has removed our transgressions from us and given us a new identity in Him. We no longer need to carry the burden of rejection because of our past or because of those around us. We are blameless and have been washed white as snow. We need to see ourselves as the Father sees us!

Romans 8:37-39 says, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” This scripture reminds us of the power of God’s love and the authority we have in Him. Nothing can separate us from His love, and no amount of rejection can stand in the way of our victory in Him.

Finally, Isaiah 54:17 provides us with a beautiful promise of freedom from rejection: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from me,” says the Lord. This scripture reminds us that we have the authority to reject any lies or condemnation that come our way. When we understand our identity in Christ, we can step out in faith and know that He is on our side.

No matter how much rejection we have experienced, we can have confidence that Jesus has overcome it so that we can live in freedom Romans 8:31 reminds us "What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" By understanding our identity in Him and claiming His promises, we know that we are deeply loved and highly favored. We can be confident that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, and we can use the authority that Jesus has given us to overcome rejection! We are not alone! Through Christ, we can reject rejection! ©Rita Larson 8/1/2023
