"Restored and Renewed!"

ree

I don't know about you, but I have certainly faced some uphill battles in life. I have been on fire for God; other times; I am embarrassed to say I let the influences of the world and people around me turn my focus away from God. There was a point in my life, after failing relationships and marriages I didn't see how God could be anything but disappointed in me. I never lost my faith in God; what I lost was my faith in myself. Today, my life is beyond anything I ever thought possible. My relationship with God is the strongest it has ever been, and I keep hungering for more every day! I have an amazing family! Thanks to my husband, all of our children, and grandchildren, I am surrounded by more love than I ever thought possible. To God be the glory because without Him in my life, I know I would not be where I am today.

Like me, have you been in that place where you lost sight of God? Maybe you are there now? Perhaps you have never experienced the fullness of God. It is never too late to reach out to the Father. When you turn your eyes to the Him, He is already there waiting for you. He wants you to walk in a life of victory. He wants to restore everything that has ever been lost!

Restoration is a powerful concept that is found throughout Scripture. For example, in Job 42:10-12 we read that after all of Job’s trials and suffering, God restored to him his former blessings. Job was a righteous man who suffered greatly at the hands of Satan. Yet, despite his trials and suffering, he remained faithful to God. In the end, God restored to Job his former blessings and gave him double what he had before. God is a just God, and what He did for Job, He wants to do for all of us!

Jeremiah 30:17 echoes this promise of restoration, telling us that God will restore us to health and cause us to be fruitful and multiply. Psalm 51:12 says, “Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.” Here, David cries out to God for restoration, asking Him to restore the joy of his salvation. Just like David, we can cry out to God and ask Him to restore us to Him. He is always waiting for us to return to Him and experience life to the fullest. God is not only loving, but He is also generous! He wants us to experience life in abundance!

Finally, Luke 19:29-30 reminds us of the power of faith and its place in walking in a life of restoration. Jesus tells a parable of a nobleman who goes away and is restored to power when he returns. Jesus says that anyone who gives up something for the Kingdom of God will be restored and will receive “manifold more” than what they gave up. Manifold more here represents one hundredfold! Again, God is a generous God and wants us to live life in abundance! Through activating our faith, we, too, can walk in restoration. No matter how far we have fallen from God, He is always there waiting for us to return to Him.

Do you feel like you are walking away from God? Has that something created a wedge between you and the Lord? God is a God of restoration, and He is faithful to restore us in all areas of our lives. He does not want to just restore us in the natural; even more importantly, He wants to restore you spiritually. He wants a relationship with us. He wants our health, emotionally, physically, and spiritually to be restored. God wants us to be close to Him and experience life fully. We need to surrender our hearts to Christ and let Him begin to do a work within us! He wants us restored and renewed, walking in victory and experiencing a personal relationship with Him! ©Rita Larson 5/28/2023
