"Squirrel VS Jesus!"

Do you ever get so busy that you begin to feel anxious and overwhelmed? I am struggling a little this week. This is our last week before we go on vacation and I have to fly to San Diego for work. Already feeling bad leaving for work because I know all that we have to do before we go on vacation, compiled with the complexity of work-related issues for the week, anxiety was creeping in. I found myself starting to feel overwhelmed. We arrived at the airport for my drop-off and as always, were saying a quick prayer covering each other for the week. While wrapping up our prayer, out of nowhere, Brian shouts, "Squirrel!" Literally, there was a squirrel right beside the car. Of course, he was being funny and lightening the mood. He knew I was stressing out a little, and the distraction was needed! Laughter is good for the soul and always brings about a joyful heart!
If the word "squirrel" can do that, imagine what the name of "Jesus" can do! It is easy for us to get distracted by the world. We need to get distracted by Jesus! When we get stressed and anxiety creeps in, we need to stop, have a squirrel moment, and look to Jesus. We need to take a deep breath and call out the name of "Jesus!" The power and authority that is found in the name of Jesus is unmatched and unparalleled throughout all of history and forever forward in time. Calling out to a squirrel may be funny for a moment, but calling on the name Jesus will change your life!
Philippians 2:11 reads, "at the name of Jesus every knee should bow." No matter what we face in life, the name of Jesus has the power and authority to overcome it. Jesus Himself said, "If you shall ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 20:31). Acts 4:30 declares, “By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.” The name of Jesus has miracle-working power.
Whenever we call upon His name, signs and wonders will be done, and the power of sickness and disease can be broken. The name of Jesus will always bring about change in any situation. The next time you are feeling overwhelmed and looking for a distraction, forget about "squirrel" and call on "The Name Above All Names", the mighty name of Jesus!
