"Stop Just Going Through The Motions"

Have you ever felt stuck in life? Like you're going through the motions but not really going anywhere? It's easy to get comfortable with where we are and settle into a routine. That is not what God created us to do. God didn't create us to stay stagnant. He has so much more in store for us. Isaiah 43:19 tells us, "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." This scripture reminds us that God is the God of more. He doesn't want us to settle for mediocrity; He wants us to experience the abundance and blessings He has prepared for us.

Be Open
The Key

Our willingness to embrace change is the key to unlocking these new opportunities, relationships, and favor. We must be open to the fresh direction and guidance that God wants to provide. Sometimes, this can be scary. It means stepping out of our comfort zones and taking risks. But when we trust in God's plan for our lives, we can have confidence that He will lead us to something better.

In John 14:26, Jesus promises us the Holy Spirit, who will guide us into all truth. This means that we don't have to navigate life's challenges and decisions on our own. The Holy Spirit provides wisdom and discernment, helping us make choices that align with God's will. When we lean on Him and seek His guidance, we can be assured that He will lead us to the new things God has in store for us.

It's important to remember that God's promises are not empty words. In 2 Corinthians 1:20, the Bible tells us, "For all the promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the glory of God by us." This means that every promise God has made to His children is true and trustworthy. When He says He will do a new thing in our lives, we can have faith that He will fulfill His word.

So, how do we apply this truth to our lives? First, we must seek God through prayer and study of His Word. By spending time in His presence, we can cultivate a deeper relationship with Him and better understand His plans for us. Second, we must be willing to let go of our own plans and desires, surrendering them to God's will. This requires humility and trust, knowing that God's ways are higher than our own.

As we embrace these principles and actively pursue God's direction for our lives, we can expect to see His promises come to fruition. We may not know exactly what the "new thing" will look like or how it will unfold, but we can have confidence that it will be even better than what we could have imagined for ourselves. So, let's get ready; something new is coming! God wants to do a new thing! ©Rita Larson 10/21/2023
