We all know someone who loves to restore things. Whether it’s furniture, old books, or antiques, it’s always a pleasure to see the transformation of something once thought to be lost and forgotten. This same concept can be applied to our own lives, too. God is the ultimate restorer and through Him, we can experience our own personal restoration.
The Bible is full of accounts of God’s ability to restore and renew. In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God speaks to the Israelites, saying “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” God is all about restoration, and He is always willing to forgive the sins of those who turn away from their wicked ways and turn towards Him. But it’s not just physical restoration that God offers, it’s also spiritual restoration. In Romans 8:28, Paul says “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” This verse is a reminder that, no matter how low we may feel, God is always able to bring us back to the place He intended us to be.
It’s His promise to us that He will never leave us and He will always be there to restore us when we turn to Him. God is the Master Restorer and He has the power to restore us in all areas of our life. It’s important to remember that this restoration starts within ourselves. We must allow God to work in us and shape us into the creation He intended us to be. Only then can we share our testimony and be ready to spread the good news and help restore others to their rightful place in God’s kingdom! ©Rita Larson 3/16/2023
