"Vacay: Taking The Gospel To Belize!"

Updated: Jun 10, 2023

It is finally here! We leave to go on vacation tomorrow! I am excited to spend time with Brian and a few of our great friends! I also am looking forward to opportunities to bless others and spread the Good News! Pray for us, and our friends, that while we have a great time we will also be about the Father's Business!

Vacation time is a great opportunity to spread the Good News of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We can look to the story of the Samaritan woman in John 4 for inspiration. In this story, we see the power of the gospel, transforming a woman who had been living in sin. As soon as she accepted Jesus as her Savior, she was filled with such joy that she could not contain it. She left her water pot and went into the city to tell the people about the wonderful Jesus she had met.

This story is an example of the power of the gospel and the impact it can have on our lives. We all can tell someone about the precious Christ we have accepted as our Savior. As we share the gospel with others, we experience being filled with Him as the living water again. This is the beauty of the gospel – it is an ever-renewing source of joy and peace that can be shared with others.

In Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus tells us to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” We can use this verse as motivation to make the most of our vacation time and share the Good News with those around us.

We can also look to Acts 1:8, which tells us that “you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” This verse encourages us to use our time to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth. Vacation time is the perfect opportunity to do this, as it allows us to travel to places we may not normally be able to go,

In Romans 1:16, Paul writes, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes.” This verse reminds us of the power of the gospel and how it can transform lives. As we share the gospel, we can be confident that the power of God’s word will do a mighty work in the heart of anyone that listens.

Romans 10:14-15, “How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent?” This verse highlights the importance of using our time and resources to share the gospel with those around us.

The Bible is full of scriptures that call us to share the Good News. Vacation time is the perfect opportunity to heed this call and spread the gospel. Be the hands and feet of Jesus and show people the love and mercy of our Lord. The world needs more people who are willing to spread the gospel, so be the one to take the initiative and bring the Good News to those around you. ©Rita Larson 6/09/23
