"Where is Your Focus?"

We all have worries and concerns, but do we really need to be so consumed by our worries that it robs us of our joy? Where is our focus? In Matthew 6:25-27, Jesus encourages us to trust Him because He cares for us and will make sure our needs our met. He says, “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?”

This is a powerful reminder that God loves us and will take care of us. We don't need to worry about our needs because He is already taking care of them. He promises us in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” He will never leave us nor forsake us. He will be with us always and provide everything we need.

In addition, Philippians 4:6-7 teaches us, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Here we are encouraged to let go of our worries and give them to God in prayer. When we do this with faith and thankfulness, we can experience the peace that passes all understanding.

We can also find assurance in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” God promises to work on our behalf and to use all things for good. Even when we don't understand why things are happening, we can trust that God is in control, and He is working all things together for our good.

What does it mean to really cast your cares to God and not worry? It means trusting that His promises are yes and amen! It means having faith that He loves us and will take care of us no matter what. It means not allowing worry to dictate our thoughts and emotions. It means believing that God is good and that He will bring good out of any situation. It means focusing on the things that matter, not the things that we cannot change.

It is easy to be overwhelmed by our worries and anxieties, but we can find peace when we cast our cares to God and trust that He is in control. We can be sure that God will use all things for our good and that He will take care of us. He will give us His peace that surpasses all understanding, and we can be confident that He cares for us. We can let go of our worries and focus on the things that matter!
