Whose Voice Are You Hearing?

I saw this when I was thumbing through Facebook this morning and came across the post by Vlad Savchuk and it is so true. We need to recognize the voice that we are listening to. There are very distinct ways to figure out if you are listening to the voice of truth of or the voice of the enemy. Vlad Savchuk breaks it down in his post.

The Holy Spirit can communicate with us, but that does not necessarily mean that every thought that passes through our minds is from God. How can we distinguish between a prompting from the Lord and deception from Satan?

It is essential to understand that Satan does attempt to influence us. The Bible reveals that Satan may have a certain measure of power to alter our internal dialogue. (Matthew 4:1-10, Acts 5:3, 1 Thessalonians 2:18 are all examples of this.) Additionally, Matthew 16:23 informs us that Satan can entice us to do his bidding.

The enemy can be quite cunning in his approach, sometimes even masquerading as a holy being, with his deceptions disguised as words of wisdom. Consequently, it is essential for all believers to distinguish between the voice of the enemy and the voice of the Spirit in order to maintain good spiritual health.

Satan's only aim when infiltrating our minds is to inflict harm. He looks to separate us from God through whatever means possible, such as despondency, enticement, disappointment, depression, or distress, in an effort to impede our spiritual strength and hinder us from obeying and adoring God. Be careful! Whose voice are you listening to? I chose to listen to God, the Voice of Truth! ©Rita Larson 10/26/2023
