"God Gave Me YOU!"

What an exciting week for us! Brian and I are getting ready to go on vacation to Belize! I cannot help to think about how blessed I am each and every day that God gave me Brian! He is such a blessing! Watching him fix dinner for us tonight I am reminded that not everyone gets the royal treatment that I do! He puts so much thought and care into everything that he does for us. I often find myself asking God what I did to deserve such a special and loving husband! We laugh together, enjoy the same things, and are spiritually in tune with one another. God knew that we were exactly what we needed for each other!

When it comes to marriage, the Bible has a lot to say. It’s not just about finding the right person but rather, it’s about understanding how you can work together to serve and glorify God as Creator. In Psalm 139:13, the Bible says, “You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.” This passage speaks to the beauty of God’s creation and how He works to create each of us individually as unique and special people.

The same is true for marriage. God created us and our spouses in His own unique way. He has given us unique personalities, gifts, and talents that He has chosen for us. When we worship and celebrate God as Creator in our marriage, we can begin to see our spouse with new eyes. We can look at them with wonder and joy, and be amazed by how God created them to be different from us.

Isaiah 44:24 says, “Thus says the Lord, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the Lord, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself.’” This scripture is a reminder that God is the only one who can create something beautiful out of nothing. He is the only one who can take two individuals and create something beautiful and lasting.

When we celebrate God as Creator in our marriage, it helps us to remember that our spouse is an individual, created by God, and that we should love them for who they are. We should be thankful for the gifts that they bring to our marriage and be humbled by the reminder that God is the one who made them. Marriage is a sacred covenant and an opportunity to love and serve one another in a way that honors God. When we celebrate and worship God as Creator in our marriage, it brings us closer together and helps us to appreciate and love one another even more! ©Rita Larson 6/5/2023
