"The Great Escape Series: Moses"

ree

In Exodus 2:11-15, we see the incredible story of Moses, a man who had a divine purpose and plan for his life. Moses found himself in a difficult situation when he witnessed an Egyptian mistreating a fellow Israelite. Filled with righteous anger, Moses defended his fellow Israelite and ended up killing the Egyptian. Realizing the severity of his actions, Moses knew he had to escape Egypt to save his own life. Little did he know that this escape would lead him to an even greater opportunity to fulfill God's purpose for him.

Sometimes, life takes unexpected turns, and we find ourselves making mistakes or facing challenging situations. But what we need to remember is that even in those moments, God is still in control. He can take our mistakes and use them to help us grow and learn. Just like Moses, who fled Egypt after his mistake, we too can find redemption and a fresh start.

God's plan for Moses was not derailed by his actions; instead, it was redirected. By fleeing Egypt, Moses was able to move on to another part of God's purpose and plan for his life. It was during his time in the wilderness that Moses encountered God in a burning bush and received the call to lead the Israelites out of slavery. This encounter with God changed everything for Moses and set him on a path that would impact the history of his people.

The story of Moses reminds us that even when things don't go according to our plan, there is still hope. God can take our mistakes and turn them into opportunities for growth and transformation. He can take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it to good. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is in the business of redemption and restoration. He can take our brokenness and make something beautiful out of it.

As believers, we can find comfort in knowing that our mistakes do not define us. They are not the end of the story but rather a chapter in the grand narrative that God is writing for our lives. When we surrender our lives to Him and trust in His plan, He will guide us through every twist and turn, leading us closer to our purpose.

So, let us be encouraged by the story of Moses and his escape from Egypt. Let us have faith that God can use our mistakes and setbacks to propel us towards His purpose for our lives. Remember that, in Jesus Christ, we have a Savior who can redeem even our darkest moments and turn them into something beautiful. ©Rita Larson 8/20/2023
